# Five Keys to a Successful ECM Migration

Migrating to a new Enterprise Content Management system represents more than moving files. It creates an opportunity to improve how your organization manages information for years to come. A thoughtful migration into Laserfiche lays the foundation for stronger governance, automation, and operational efficiency.

The first step is evaluating existing content. Many organizations discover duplicate files, outdated records, and inconsistent folder structures that no longer provide value. Cleaning information before migration creates a more organized repository from day one.
